Basic Information
Loot & Rarity
What the colour of an item's name means, how good drops are handed out among a party, and why the same weapon can drop stronger from a tougher monster. Everything below is live in Evolution.
Rarity colours
Every item's name is coloured by how much magic it carries — specifically, by thehighest tier it would yield if you disenchanted it. The stronger the magic locked inside, the rarer the colour. A plain white item has nothing to harvest; a magenta "Epic" is packed with high-tier material; a gold Unique is a one-off legendary.
| Colour | Rarity | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| White | Common | No magic property at all — a plain item. |
| Green | Uncommon | Disenchants to a fragment of tier 1–4. |
| Magenta | Rare (Epic) | Disenchants to tier 5 or higher. Its name carries the word "Epic". |
| Gold | Unique | A hand-authored legendary. Shown with a plain gold name (no prefix). |
Item Drops — Need / Greed
When a monster drops an item strong enough to matter — one whose disenchant tier is4 or higher — it does not fall to the ground for anyone to grab. Instead it is raffled among the party members who were present for the kill, so the loot goes to a person rather than to the fastest click.
The item you win doesn't drop at your feet — it lands in your personal, persistentItem Drops list. Open it with the Drops button on the top bar (near F6) and click a line to claim it into your inventory. The list is yours and survives logout, so a full bag never costs you a win.
Weapon variants
Weapons drop in one of three quality variants, each a stronger cut of the same weapon:
| Variant | Effect |
|---|---|
| Common | The base weapon. |
| Superior | +1 base damage. |
| Exceptional | +2 base damage. |
Variants stack with the damage prefixes Sharp (+1) andAncient (+2), so a single weapon can carry both. The full name is built in a fixed order:
[Epic] [Prefix] [Variant] [Base] [+N]
For example, a Poisoning Exceptional Battle Axe is a Battle Axe with the Poisoning prefix and the Exceptional (+2 damage) quality. See theWeapons page for base damage on every weapon.
Drop quality by monster tier
Every piece of equipment a monster drops now rolls two magic properties — aprefix and a secondary stat. How high those values roll depends on the tier of the monster that dropped it: each tier has a floor and a ceiling, and stronger monsters roll from a higher band.
Once you've collected the material, break gear down and pour it into your keepers on theEnchanting page.
